About Us

The SabaterLAB Foundation was established to serve beyond compassion, and this means that we serve to intentionally empower uniquely diverse communities. Specifically, our efforts to serve are aimed at building partnerships, securing funding, running programs, offering integrative services, and providing resources.

Background

[Whereas since 2015, married couple Ivelisse and Dr. Julio Sabater had been running their primary business, shoulder to shoulder, carrying the weight, and bearing the blessings, in March of 2021, they doubled their efforts to serve their community with the establishment of SabaterLAB Foundation. Prior to these efforts, the two had made a lifetime commitment to accessible, equitable, and inclusive care because their own personal histories had led them to know then that similar services and available resources aren’t always what is wanted or needed to truly help and understand communities of color and unserved populations.]

Why do we do what we do? Because SabaterLAB Foundation believes that in the state of Rhode Island, all communities, including our resilient, determined, and supportive communities of black, indigenous, people of color and unserved populations, deserve accessible, inclusive, and equitable rights to operate and serve effectively, efficiently, and sustainably.

Board of Directors

The members of our board of directors are outspoken leaders who have made, and continue to make, important contributions to our society as proponents and promoters of accessible, inclusive, and equitable rights. They each bring a unique set of skills and experience to the organization through their service and hard work representing and advocating for all communities, including our communities of black, indigenous, people of color and underserved populations in the state of Rhode Island.
